10 Things I Love about Maryland
I must say that Maryland has various lovable traits, and I can't get enough of it! Maryland is indeed a charming State full of history and culture. I’m a native to this state and I’m never leaving! Here are some of the things that have made me love Maryland the most:
We have seasonal Sunflower Fields!
Who wouldn't enjoy a field of flowers? A lot of tourists, even locals, are excited to see sunflower fields bloom every year. There are a lot of sunflower fields that you can visit during this season. These are favorites for the ‘selfie’ lovers.
The MD State Fair
Our yearly State fair is just around the corner! This year marks the 140th Maryland State fair. It is an annual state fair held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds near York and Timonium roads. It is a 12-Day event that usually begins in late August and ending around Labor Day. It’s packed with all your typical fair favorites including fried Oreo’s, corn dogs, and every un-safe dollar coaster that gets assembled in 24-hours that you can imagine! They also have animals and tons of fair games!
Ocean City!
Maryland is known for its gorgeous 10-mile beach that is free to use and is ideal for reuniting with family and friends. It has never looked more appealing than it does now! It's the perfect spot for a conventional summer holiday, with everything from sunbathing to sandcastles, fishing, to kite flying.
Whether it's your first visit or you've been coming here for years, prepare to build memories in a town full of them. There are quite a lot of things to do. Put your toes in the sand, relax, and take in the view of the sun setting over the bay.
Deep Creek Lake
Deep Creek Lake is a unique four-season destination carved deep in the mountains in the west of Maryland. It's a great place to go fishing or boating in the summer and undoubtedly every outdoor adventurer's dream destination! In the fall, visit Oakland for the Autumn Glory Festival. Wisp Resort in McHenry's four-season fun zone is the best spot to hit the slopes in the winter. It is a paradise for adventurers, with culture and cuisine to rival any location.
Beautiful Baltimore City Skyline
Most people don't immediately think of scenic views when they think of Baltimore, but that doesn't have to be the case. As a maritime city with a lot of mountainous topography, Baltimore is ready for some spectacular views.
Crabs and Natty Boh Hon! (Natty Boh is a state-made beer)
Nothing says “Maryland” more than a steaming plate of fresh crabs paired with a refreshing can of Natty Boh! Marylanders enjoy a big plate of Old Bay crabs with a cold can of Natty Boh to wash it all down. Some people have even gone so far as to create innovative cocktails that combine the two components. It always hits the spot, an authentic taste of Home!
We have all four seasons.
Seasonal living is the way to go! Maryland's vibrant seasons make it a year-round destination for those looking for seasonal enjoyment from all over the country. Whether you like fall trekking through gorgeous foliage, winter ice skating, spring strolling through cherry blossoms, or summer splashing in the pool, each season has its unique activities, sights, tastes, and events for a picture-perfect getaway.
The O's (the Oriole's baseball team)
What is Summer without baseball? The excitement builds from Spring Training through the night before the first game, and Opening Day at Camden Yards is not to be missed, especially if it is the season's opening game. Oriole Park at Camden Yards transformed the landscape of baseball forever when it opened in 1992, and it remains the best spot on Earth to enjoy the most excellent game on the planet 29 years later. You'll understand why after just one game at "The Yard."
The Ravens (our Football team)
We love our football games out here! For years Maryland has shown a competitive passion and awesomeness into the stadium. The Ravens have made their way home, and it has never made the State any prouder. If you enjoy Football and loves sports in general, you will enjoy a Ravens game!
Old Bay! (this is a seasoning indigenous to MD)
This quintessential spice has been around for ages, and it has never failed me yet! This renowned American spice blend has been a household favorite for years because it has multiple layers of distinct flavors. This Old Bay Seasoning recipe is fantastic as an all-purpose seasoning blend and will quickly become a staple on your dinner table.
Bottom Line!
Many things will make you fall in love with Maryland, and these ten things I have mentioned are only some of the more incredible things that are waiting for you out here! If you are thinking about buying your new home here in Maryland, it will be great to have an agent who knows Maryland by heart!
