What Social Media REALLY Wants to See:
People don't give a hoot about what you're selling
You can apply this to any product. People don't really care about the tube of eyelash serum that you're selling for the discounted price of $85.00. What they care about is what having lush eyelashes does for you - How does it make you feel? Does it make you more confident and what does that increased confidence do for you? The same applies to Real Estate. The general public doesn't really care about a Realtor's individual listings. They care about how that home makes you feel when you walk through it. What could that home mean for you personally - A better life for your family? A better commute to work? A better school system for your kids?As a Realtor, how are you making your clients and followers feel? Would they scream at the top of a building that everyone needs to hire you? If you don't think they would do that than it's time to real evaluate your passion for your business. We all get burned out and that's OK, but it's time to pick yourself back up and re-invigorate your business! Your passion for your business, no matter what your business is will make people shout from the rooftops for you! They will drink the passion from you and feel excited about whatever it is that they are going through with you whether it be a real estate transaction or just growing out their eyelashes 😉. Make them feel special for choosing you to help them. They can buy eyelash serum from anyone! They can buy a home from anyone too - There are thousands of agents to choose from. I can guarantee that the majority of those agents are lacking passion, drive, and a genuine care for their clients.
Be genuine
Don't just tell your clients that you care - SHOW them! They should feel like you have no other homes on your plate than theirs. Communicate with them before they're asking you for an update. Show them the results of your marketing for them, the analytics, the social media posts for their home and how many additional views they got from it. Genuinely care about their personal situation. Why they are moving, where they are going, and what they are leaving behind. Moving is personal every time. There's always a motive - understand that motive from the beginning and you will forever hold an impression with that person.
They are not just another commission check - it's NEVER about the money. It's ALWAYS about the people.
Thank your tribe
Now that you've started a following and you have your tribe you better make sure you thank them profusely. They are your primary source of referrals and income. Don't just make a video telling them that you love them, you have to actually love them. Drop them a hand written note every now and then. Show up to their job with a coffee just to say hi, leave them a little treat on their doorstep one day. Rotate your 'thank you's' around so you make sure you get to as many people as you can in your rotation every year.
Your tribe are your people and you need them to shout from the rooftops about you. You need them to interject at the water cooler when they over hear someone talking about moving - "oh you HAVE to call Danielle. She's the BEST'.
You need that, and don't every get too big that you think you don't. What does social media really want to see? YOU - they want to see the genuine you. 💙
