How Real Estate Found Me
I don't talk about my personal story much - how I came into Real Estate and what it has become for me. My background was in the financial industry, primarily collections. I worked at big banks and a small credit union...constantly searching for what we're all searching for - what value am I bringing to my company, to myself, and more importantly the public/people? I collected and managed all types of accounts including mortgages and at one time I was responsible for making recommendations on foreclosures/evictions/short sales etc.
When the decision had to be made whether to stay at my 9-5 office job or dive head first into a world of unknown pay periods it was a difficult one to say the least! I leaned on my family and my faith to guide me through and every part of my gut said "you fucking got this!". I was capable of bringing more to this world than what I had been contributing. I knew I could make a difference for people and impact them in a way they would never forget in one of their most important life decisions - where are they going to live and set up their family/work/life?
The leap was hard, this business is nothing of what it seems on the surface. If you do it right, and I do, it's expensive, it includes a lot of late nights and weekends, and you have to juggle a lot of moving parts to get through each transaction. BUT - if you do it right, like I do, it's the most rewarding thing I've had the pleasure of being a part of.
There are months I don't get paid, a settlement goes array, or tragedy strikes. That's what people don't see. They don't see the moment you question your every decision.
I stay true to myself, my family, and my clients and that is what drives me to continue to do more every day! Keep learning, keep being uncomfortable and keep pushing myself harder and harder. The truth is - no one really cares about my story or anyone else's. This world is 'what have you done for me lately'.
I make sure what I'm doing is impactful, honest, innovative, and ahead of the game! I will always make that commitment for my clients and my business. This business is my everything. I have sacrificed my time, money, and my sanity to make sure I stay top-of-mind and bring my clients the very BEST every day. No Excuses.
