Taking My Own Advice and Going BOLD with Color
Welp, I did it! About 90 days after living here, I've decided it was time to paint and paint, I did! The colors in my living and dining room before were not offensive, they were fairly boring cream and tan colors to match the almond colored windows (they drive me nuts but are not in the budget for replacement right now).
Pintrest told me to keep the existing chair rail which was located low on the wall, brighten up the trim, and reverse the colors so the dark color was actually on the top half of the chair rail.
These colors are Alpine Trail and Whisper White from Behr. The white turned out to be more white than I was expecting and therefore needed 3 coats of paint from the painters 😬 They did a great job and took their time to make sure it looked right.
This white color also went into my kitchen, down my hallway, and into my foyer. My foyer needs some love and it's next on my list...I have some fun ideas brewing for that 😉
