LET’S BE INVOLVED: LIST OF LOCAL CHARITIES TO SUPPORT!

It’s the holiday season! Most people have been doing their best in putting up decorations and reconnecting with their loved ones, but what better way can we feel the holiday spirit than getting up and volunteering to help the less fortunate people feel the holiday cheers!

Volunteering doesn’t need to be grand, you can do anything that you feel comfortable in doing while helping out at the same time, it can be your love for animals, helping out non-profit organizations, you name it! Giving back to the community doesn’t need to be anything big at all, as long as you pour your heart into it.

If you want to start volunteering, we have listed a few recommendations for local charities to get involved in through donations and volunteer work:

1. YOUR LOCAL FOOD KITCHEN. This is your local food bank, and its mission is mainly focused on supplying emergency food and helping fight hunger in the community by creating local food pantries, a community garden, and delivering healthy groceries to senior citizens.

In this case, your local church will most likely have connections if you want to donate to

your local food bank.

2. Your Local Humane Society. This is the most efficient national organization for protection. There are a lot of ways to help these rescue organizations, you can either adopt their rescued furry friends, volunteer in the shelter, report animal cruelty or even donate for the shelter’s supplies.

3. Your Local Schools. Contact and reach out to different local schools that might need donations to help students in their educational needs. For your reference, they usually have lists of underprivileged families with needs for winter clothes and school supplies for their children.

4. Your Local Church. There are a lot of ways where you can help your local church, you can host events for them, support local youth groups, help and donate in distributing food and other supplies to those in need.

5. Your local Homeless Shelter. There are a lot of underprivileged individuals that are not able to afford to have their own homes. Donating to such organizations would be a great help in giving hope and support to these individuals.

There are a lot of places where you can help and volunteer; If you want to donate to a more global organization, just make sure you do your research, and you’re happy with the allocation of money within the organization. There are plenty of reputable organizations out there!
