Winter is Coming...
I couldn't help the Game of Throne's reference! Winter is coming! Here's a few things you should put on your to-do list this weekend!
- Weatherproof your doors and windows by re-caulking and sealing any cracks and openings.
- Reverse your fans so they are spinning clockwise to aim that warm air back down to you.
- Get your annual fireplace inspection and chimney sweep.
- Drain and turn off your outside hose spigot's.
- Clean out your dryer hose.
- Clean out your gutters.
- Keep the heat on. Eneergy.gov says that 68 degrees is the ideal and most efficient temperature to keep your home.
- Clean out the external trap at the base of your basement steps to prevent overflow and flooding.
- Pack up all your beautiful outdoor furniture and cushions and put them into a covered area like a shed or basement to help them last for many years to come!
I am not a 'winter person' but it's a necessary evil to get to Spring. The faster it comes and goes, the better!
